Date: Friday, June 6, 2025

Place: Turning Point 3371 US-1, Lawrence Township, NJ 08648 (Mercer Mall).
Whether you are an entrepreneur or someone interested in discussing innovations that you can apply to your business or your career, join us for breakfast! Our HARVARD ENTREPRENEURS' BREAKFAST is an informal opportunity on the first Friday of every month for Harvard Alumni to meet, drink some joe, connect, and share ideas and opportunities.
June's topic is Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA), led by Steve McConnell (MBA '74). ETA involves buying and growing an existing business, rather than starting a new one, by leveraging existing customer bases, brand recognition, and infrastructure. This approach, also known as acquisition entrepreneurship, offers a faster path to building a successful business by acquiring companies with a proven track record and established operations.
With Baby Boomers reaching retirement age and with small biotechs struggling to get funding, acquisition and rollup opportunities are expanding.
We'll discuss the advantages and disadvantages and the upsides and downsides of this entrepreneurial strategy. We'll also discuss the types of businesses and financing approaches fit this business model.
