SIR JAMES GALWAY

Globally renowned as the supreme interpreter of the classical flute repertoire, Sir James Galway is a consummate performer whose appeal transcends all musical boundaries.  This is his first appearance on the McCarter stage since 1999.

Date:            Monday, March 26, 2018

Time:           6:30PM in the West Lobby for cocktails / 7:30PM Performance

Place:            McCarter Theater, 91 University Place, Princeton, NJ

Sir James Galway’s appeal transcends all musical boundaries, as evidenced by his discography of ninty-seven albums, which collectively have sold some thirty million copies and constitute the benchmark for all modern flutists—not bad for a working-class kid from Belfast who just celebrated his 75th birthday. Reflecting on a career that began more than fifty years ago, he puts in this way: “I do not consider myself as having mastered the flute, but I get a real kick out trying.” He will be joined by his wife and fellow flutist Lady Jeanne Galway and his longtime pianist Phillip Moll.
